West Coast Premiere: The Two Figaros

Annie will sing the role of Inez, the daughter of the Count and Countess, in the West Coast premiere of Saverio Mercadante's bubbly 1826 masterpiece, I due Figaro (The Two Figaros) 

Presented by Opera UCLA, the UCLA Department of Theater, and the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, and set to a libretto by Felice Romani of The Barber of Seville fame, this opera imagines the further adventures of the wily and irrepressible Figaro, who finally meets his match and is brought to account by the various women in his life. The Two Figaros will be part of the citywide Figaro Unbound Celebration of LA Opera. 

Guest conductor Joseph Colaneri of the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Opera, Music Director of Glimmerglass Opera and head of the Opera training program at Mannes, will conduct the UCLA Philharmonia. Peter Kazaras, Director of Opera Studies at UCLA, will direct.

Performance dates:

Sunday February 15 at 2pm
Friday February 20 at 8pm
